164/365: Empty room
My last flatmate left. Now I'm going to rent the room out to a friend for a workshop.

157/365: Zulka checks out the new safety railing
June 6th
I made it so she could sit on the windowsill without sliding off.

116/365: Zulka and the plants
April 26th
Which I was glad to see she did not destroy while I was gone.

98/365: Pretty
April 8th
This morning while I was asleep my flatmate decided it would be a good idea to put make-up on my cat.

96/365: Zulka
April 6th
A fly flew in. You know what happens when that happens, if you have cats.

58/365: Zulka
February 27th
Asleep in a wire basket. Well...pretending to be asleep.

57/365:Granola and code
February 26th
I made some granola yesterday, because the stuff you get in stores costs way too much, and always has raisins in it. I hate raisins!
So I bought a bag of spelt, a bag of barley, and a bag of rye, mixed it up with buckwheat honey (best honey ever ever), canola oil, cinnamon, baked it and then stirred in cumbled chocolate and walnuts. I'm set for breakfast for the next two months :P
Oh, and it made a good midnight snack. I'm building a website for a friend and...well, I'm not a programmer, so it's kind of uphill.

37/365: Kidney beans
February 6th
Something is wrong with me, all my most recent photos are...well, they're not terrible, but they're much worse than my usual. And I just can't get a proper exposure to save my life. What is going on?
Maybe my apartment is just too darn dark.

30/365: Cat at night
January 30th
Zulka is still a bit groggy from her operation, but she has been busy licking away at the bandage. I doubt it will stay on much longer...
28/365: Post-op
January 28th
Just a fixing, but she's taking time to sleep it off. It must hurt, poor thing, and the bandage is not comfortable.
The vet I first took her to said I should wait until the first heat before fixing her, which apparently is completely wrong. The other vet (where I got Oli from) says they fix all the kittens as soon as possible. Seems like every clinic has its own methods...
In any case, she is done, and now I have three sexless cats in the house.
26/365: Deer Oli
January 26th
Silver deer and One-Eyed Oli. He's so dark he looks like one of those sootpixies from Totoro.

19/365: Alder the Cyclops
Or Olsza, Oli, Olinek. New kid in the house. Foundling from the Bałucki flea market. One eye and a chunk of his right ear lost to an infection. Zulka is furious that she is no longer the littlest cat.
She'll just have to get over it. :)
(dear family, don't worry, this is the last cat I am taking. Three is my limit.)
This is what he looked like a month ago, still wild and scared:
And the North Pole? It's getting closer!

17/365: Expedit Cat
January 17th
I've wanted Expedit bookcases for a while now. You can quote Fight Club at me 'til your face turns blue, I like IKEA furniture. Not exclusively, I browse pawn shops like any proper Lodzian (Lodziite?) should, but very often Ikea has EXACTLY what I need.
This is one of two shelves I found sitting in the 'Damaged and Display' section, just waiting for me to adopt them. If you count the drawer and closet modules, I paid less for both than I would have for one.
And Zulka likes them.

2/365: Bananaplant
I can never resist writing that together: bananaplantanabanananana. It's a Musa Acuminata as far as I can tell, but I'm not a botanist and there was no label on it. But, look! Look at the tiny growing there. There's two more little ones growing by my other banana plant (a Musa Cavendish), although it kinda looks like it's dying, and I don't know why. My third banana plant rotted, probably because I bought it in winter and it caught cold while I was bringing it home.
This one was my first, when I got it (at the local 'poor people' supermarket, no less) it was a third of the size. I really like it.
Here is the other plant, and all the action around it:

354/365: Cat and duck
December 20th
A stray and a duck share a meal kindly provided by a local gardener.

334/365: One-eye
Behind the vet clinic where I had to put my little Garia down because of FIP, there is a house. In that house reside some fifty odd cats. Some are strays, some are abandoned pets, some were brought to the clinic and never picked up.
This fellow was born at the flea market and brought in with infections. The vet had to remove his eye.
Don't tell my parents, but I am taking him home after Zulka's vaccines are done.

330/365: Wooden floors
November 26th
Which the carpenter uncovered while tearing out an old wardrobe, and so I said, out with the lino, let's have those planks back! He will sand and paint them, of course, but he's building bookshelves, first. This apartment is like a knitted sweater, pull on one string and everything unravels.
327/365: Blue cat
November 23rd
I painted the walls, she tried to help.

317/365: Sleepy
My mattress is standing upright while my room is being redone- I sleep on the couch, but Zulka perches right on top of the spring-and-foam monolith.
